The Export Operator Notes
Questions to Ask Before Your First Food Container Order
The first container should not be the first time the buyer discovers who owns a document, what counts as conformity or whether the destination accepts the product. Resolve those questions before the purchase order becomes irreversible.
Is the approved product fully identified?
The purchase order should point to the correct specification version, approved sample where relevant, packaging configuration and production site. Open decisions should not be hidden inside email threads.
Agree the sampling, testing and release evidence that will demonstrate conformity for the commercial lot.
Who owns every document and shipment action?
Map who prepares commercial and export documents, who arranges inspection if required, who books freight, who provides shipping instructions and who checks the document set before dispatch.
Egyptian export procedures and destination import requirements should be verified for the actual transaction rather than assumed from a previous shipment.

Has the destination been checked before printing and production?
Confirm current import conditions, classification, product rules and label obligations for the destination. For EU-bound shipments, Access2Markets is one official reference point, while other destinations require their own competent-source review.
If label content or declarations depend on the destination, finish that review before artwork is released for printing.
